Residential FAQs

How do I arrange for my child to stay in the Residential Provision?

We advise a settling in period at Cloughwood Academy for your child to get used to their new school and their daily routines. After this time, if your child would like to try the residential provision, please contact Carly Clarke (Head of Care) to discuss it further.  This can be done by calling the main school office on 01606 537690 who will pass on your details.

Can my son stay any night of the week?

Wherever possible, we will try to keep children of similar ages on particular nights of the week.

When a space becomes available for your child, we will discuss with you what days can be offered.

What happens if there is a problem whilst my child is staying in the Residential Provision?

If your son becomes unwell or an issue develops whilst staying on the residential provision, a member of the team will contact you immediately to discuss.

If, for any reason, you need to contact the residential team after school hours, they can be reached on 07493 971530.

Where actually is the Residential Provision?

The Residential Provision is attached to the school and is accessed via a securely locked  door.

How many children can stay in the Residential Provision?

We can accommodate 8 children overnight, plus additional children who stay for an extended day before going home early in the evening.

Is the Residential Provision open over the weekends and school holidays?

No, there is no provision on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings or when the school is closed for holidays or inset days.

My child has an appointment/commitment, or I need to change when my child is staying in the Residential Provision - who do I inform?
