Homework
At Cloughwood Academy we strive to create a learning environment that promotes independence. Research shows that setting extension or reinforcement work to be completed outside of the classroom enables pupils to develop independent critical thought; the ability to be a self-starter; and the opportunity to retain long-term skills, knowledge and understanding being taught in the classroom.
In order to promote this, we will ensure that your child is provided with a Chromebook which will support ICT literacy and encourage independent learning. Pupils are invited to complete homework on their Chromebook which can be taken home and returned the next day.
In order to encourage pupils to complete homework, we have weekly awards which take place during our Friday Celebration Assembly, in which staff are invited to nominate pupils for a quality piece of homework.
