Under the hood of the computer
Year 7 and 8 pupils have had a busy start to the term in ICT. Lessons have been spent studying algorithms and investigating hardware and software.
Whilst learning about computer algorithms and precise instructions, students undertook a navigation task whilst blindfolded – an activity which brought about a few errors! These ‘bugs’ in the system were corrected with students using their problem solving skills to resolve the issues.
Students have also been identifying computer components including the CPU, RAM, power unit, motherboard, graphics card and sound card and discussing their functions.
